Gilbert Rios & Taylor Lopes

I'm thrilled to introduce our guest for today's episode, Danique. A distinguished figure in the service dog industry known for her profound impact on policy advocacy, scientific research, and community service.

Danique's journey began in the U.S. Navy, where she served with military police dogs, sparking her pursuit of knowledge that led to her completing advance studies in working dogs from the University of Syracuse.

She has advised entities ranging from Congress to the Department of Transportation, shaping pivotal policies governing service dogs and military canines.

As the President of Leashes of Valor (LOV), Danique's leadership led to groundbreaking research on the effectiveness of service dogs for PTSD and TBI treatment. Her advocacy efforts safeguard the legal status of service dogs under the ADA, and she now heads The Hero Academy, a program providing service, therapy, and working dogs to veterans, first responders, and their families at no cost, exemplifying her dedication to positive change and empowerment.

Its nice to hear about therapy dogs being implemented in important roles within first responder departments. This is an episode I know you'll love and have great interest in.
